Notebook: Cnocandancer & Seta
I was considering blog purdah for election week, but that seemed somewhat extreme so I am slimming down to the odd name in a racing notebook instead until I have stopped flowing molten lava…
I was feeling a bit down in the dumps on Sunday until the unusually named Cnocandancer won the last yesterday @ the Curragh. Making her debut from stall 22 in a 30 runner maiden she did it very nicely and I was most taken with her, plus a little bit thankful.
A daughter of Danehill Dancer and out of Dancing Diva (Sadlers Wells) she holds entries in the Irish Guineas and Oaks. I’ll look forward to seeing her out again.
As for Seta, the other flaxen maned sort I fell for at the weekend, who knows what gives there. Certainly Luca Cumani the trainer was at a loss in the aftermath. She is a very imposing sort and if she has the engine to drive the chassis could be very exciting. The only thing I can think of is that having won over 7f as a 2yo she needs a bit more of a trip, she certainly appears to have the physical scope and her half-brother by Mark of Esteem was a winner of 12f. We will have to wait and see.
